10 RULES OF LANE ETIQUETTE

RULE 1- GIVE 100% ATTENTION AND EFFORT

RULE 2- Swim Anti-Clockwise in Lanes 2,4,6 / Clockwise in Lanes 1,3,5

RULE 3- DON’T STOP in the middle of the lane! Swim to the end of the pool if you need to stop.

RULE 4- DO NOT ARGUE, FIGHT or BE RUDE, if there is a problem talk to the coach. 

RULE 5-  Be in the right order in your lane (fastest to slowest). This will change depending on the stroke or drill you are doing and may mean letting another swimmer go in front of you. You will not be the fastest at everything.

RULE 6- Use the pacing clock and set off at minimum 5,7 or 10 seconds apart. (Decided by coaches)

RULE 7- Don’t overtake unless you really need to! To overtake touch the foot of the swimmer and overtake at the turn or if the lane is clear overtake in the middle of the pool. 

RULE 8- Always Start, turn and finish with LEGAL push offs and touches. BUT Allow everyone to do it, Don’t block up the lane.

RULE 9- Not every length is a race! Do perfect drills and skills RIGHT

RULE 10- WE ARE A TEAM SO LET ACT AS ONE! Treat everyone as you wish to be treated.
