Spring Long Course – Report

Forget about Storm Ciara & Storm Dennis, because Storm Otters were making big waves at Swansea, National Pool on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th February. Set over very long days with no break, the event ran from 8am to 7pm.

5 Male Otters from young to old set their sights at getting qualifying time for the up and coming WestMidlands or Tokyo British trial, Championships.

Our members did an incredible job for the first long course meet of the year. With 17 male events over the two days our members gain an incredible 11 medals – 2 Golds, 5 Silvers and 4 Bronzes plus two competition time records. Frustrations also stuck with British trials times teasing our members by milliseconds, as close as just missing it by 0:00.00.01! Nevertheless solid performance from our members leaving the meet with new additional targets and focus for next time around.

Storm Dennis, however did cause issues afterwards with traveling for our tired swimmers, coach and officials efforts to get back home. We do hope everyone else hasn’t been effected by the storm with any flooding.
